Rules to remember

• Driver's licenses are valid until the holder turns 65
• Right turn on red is permitted after a complete stop (unless posted otherwise)
• Dust storm law: pull off road, turn off lights during dust storms
• No vehicle inspection requirement for most vehicles

Before you drive

Arizona follows a graduated licensing system with a learner's permit available at 15.5 years. The state has a 'Stupid Motorist Law' that allows authorities to charge drivers who ignore barricades during floods for the cost of their rescue.
