TERMS OF USE

Terms for using Engine Journal.

These terms explain the rules that apply when you browse Engine Journal, use its research tools, create an account, or participate in article discussions.

1. Acceptance

By accessing Engine Journal, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy and Cookie policies. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Registration is currently free, and the site does not collect payment information or sell a paid access pass.

2. Informational purpose

Vehicle specifications, prices, source-based reviews, DMV materials, loan calculations, and insurance estimates are provided for general research and educational use. They are not financial, insurance, legal, mechanical, or government advice and do not replace a quote, inspection, contract, official handbook, or professional recommendation.

3. Accuracy and availability

We work to keep content useful, but model equipment, destination charges, incentives, regulations, test results, and market availability can change. Estimated or incomplete data may be identified as such. Always confirm important details with the manufacturer, seller, lender, insurer, or applicable government agency before acting.

4. Accounts and access

You are responsible for protecting your username and password and for activity performed through your account. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the site, scrape it in a way that disrupts service, or use another person's account without permission. Registration does not create a paid subscription.

5. Comments and conduct

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, infringing, promotional, or privacy-invasive material. You retain ownership of text you submit, while granting Engine Journal permission to display and format it as part of the discussion. We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.

6. Intellectual property

The site design, branding, original editorial copy, software, and organization of the content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Vehicle names and third-party marks belong to their respective owners. These terms permit personal, non-commercial use and do not transfer ownership.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The site is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee that every feature or data point will be error-free or continuously available. To the extent permitted by law, Engine Journal and the Altras.ai team are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on site content or use of its tools.

8. Changes

We may update the site or these terms as the experience evolves. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest published version. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from that point forward.
