Rules to remember

• No right turn on red in New York City (unless sign says otherwise)
• NYC congestion pricing for vehicles entering Manhattan below 60th St
• 5-hour pre-licensing course required
• Must carry license, registration, and insurance at all times
• Junior drivers cannot use any electronic device while driving

Before you drive

New York has a complex graduated licensing system with specific NYC rules. The 5-hour pre-licensing course is mandatory. Insurance minimums are 25/50/10 with PIP. NYC has additional regulations including congestion pricing.
